Hello Andrea,

I completely understand how you know you have to do it and not know why. I think that is probably about you listening to your intuition which doesn't always give a logical explanation, but it feels so right. I also understand that feeling of knowing you are authentically yourself in an automatic way, but sometimes we have to step outside of ourselves and become people who need to fit into a particular circumstance. You know? It doesn't exactly feel like us, but it gets us through something we need to get through. I find being in this position exceptionally exhausting. Do you? Of course, as you say living oneself while living in harmony with those around us is absolutely a lifelong learning process probably because things are always changing. Now I don't mind change, but many people struggle with it and that can be a lot of pressure.

I think this book would speak to you as the questions are both practical and insightful. The best thing is that the artist's personalities come through during the interview.

Thanks so much, Andrea!

Hi Kim, something I always stick to, have been for some time now, is "I just have to persevere". The word "just" is in this creed-sentence cause sometimes I don't even know why I have to, I just have to. Persevere, I mean:) But I think I also can use (need) something of your motto, "be myself"...Sometimes I feel as I'm automatically myself and sometimes I feel like I'm automatically NOT myself, lol. So, To be oneself, while living in harmony with those around us, that seems like a lifelong learning process, sometimes a tightrope walk. Balancing act....
The book looks so full of insight, I'm eager to hear more about it...
Have a wonderful day

I think that is just fine, San. It seems to me as though you should have something like "Live Fine With A Warpy Mind!" Just kidding. I enjoyed your recent post...too good! You really may enjoy this book.

Oh no, I believe I've been caught creedless! It's something to ponder in 2010 though...

The book looks wonderful. And by the way, I finally got over to TED to look at the Gilbert video. I did enjoy it! And while I was there I saw Amy Tan's. If you haven't yet gotten to that one, I really recommend it.

A couple of years ago I decided on a "slogan" rather than a resolution.

"Be Nice And Keep It Simple"

Initially I thought I'd change my slogan each year, but this one has served me so well that I've just hung on to it.

You can even see it on one of my January journal pages over at my Second Studio blog.

Happy New Year everyone......
