A Gate Is Like A Door

from my sketchbook

When I was in France, earlier this year, I took a photograph of a perfectly French gate at Giverny. I came home and gave it my own twist!  I think a gate is a door of sorts.  Do you?  Are any gates/doors opening or closing for you this summer?

Hi Sabi, isn’t it interesting how something can transport us in different ways? I am glad you like this drawing! Thank you.

  • Lovely drawing. I do think gates open up like doors to things. Gates to lovely peaceful pastures. Right now I am not feeling peaceful as my gate is looking at surgery. But then it could be its opening to feeling much better. Its all how you look at things I guess. :)

Hi Kim, what a fantastic gate! I love your drawing. Gateways are definitely like doorways withut a doubt. I don’t feel any doors opening for me this summer, but maybe I’ll need to create one of my own! xx

Hello Cris, I think you are right this is all how you look at things. Doors close so other doors can open. For me, when you can see the good, then good doors open. I am so sorry you are having to face this surgery, but I can imagine it is going to make your life so much better than it has been. I am sure you are in good hands and it will be good to have it over. Best of Luck and be as healthy as possible going into this time of health trials.

Thank you, Jess! I love, doors, gates and windows as they indicate the idea of opening to new experiences. Now I would love to see this wonderful door you create for yourself. I am sure it will be fantastic! Thanks so much!

Thanks for stopping by, Sabi. I have been away for a bit. Now I am playing catch up :-) It is all good, though.
