100th Anniversary!
No Silly, that doesn’t mean me! The place I visited is celebrating it’s 100th Anniversary of being a National Park. Do you know it? Here is another hint…
This is beargrass and grows up high in alpine regions. Do you know now? Okay, so these are the ones who really like the beargrass, and I saw several of them on this trip. Actually, this is a small one – a cub.
One more hint. I will give you a longer view from the Continental Divide…
Isn’t this beautiful? Maybe it is in the eyes of the beholder, but to this family Glacier National Park in Montana and Waterton National Park in Canada (collectively known as Glacier-Waterton International Peace Park) is a place we find amazing beauty. This is the oldest international park in the world. We love it there and I just spent two weeks contemplating the beauty this earth shares with us! Inspiration is at every turn and I have returned with so much I can hardly get anything else accomplished.
So now you know where I have been. Do you know this park? Do you have a favorite natural place to visit? Does it fill you with inspiration?

“Glacier Waterton International Peace Park”…what a lovely name. It does look peaceful, and do we see where the glacier has done it’s work?
How amazing to see bears in the wild!
I love to see the photos of this place – it is the same place as you went last year?
Arohanui.
Oh Lesley, it is such a peaceful place! You sure do see where glaciers have done their work. Some glaciers are still there, however they are going away at a rapid rate due to global warming! We saw bears a couple of times and one very close one in Waterton. Last year my two men, here, actually turned a corner on a trail while they were backpacking and there sat an adult grizzly. They have to watch videos every year on how to handle themselves around these powerful, massive animals. I did not go last year, just my men (who backpack in every year), but I was there the year before. We have been going up there for 20 years now! There is always something new to see. Namaste
