Loosening Up in the Studio
Each day I come into the studio and begin with loosening up my hands (is that an age thing?) and that in turn loosens up my brain. I mean that literally. When I stop “thinking” I absolutely get my best work out. Of course, after it comes out of me, I have to go back to that thinking thing again. At any rate, I have been trying this loosening up exercise for a little while now and think it is quite helpful. I have a lot of different practices to try to keep myself artistically, mentally, emotionally and physically limber, but the sketching is really quite helpful with my studio practice. What do you do to bring yourself to that place where you best work?
For more sketches, visit Andrea and me over at Kind Art. While you are there, sign up for email reminders to know when we post something new. You can do that on this blog, as well.
