Photography
While I do not claim to be a great photographer by any means, I do love my photographs and use them a lot to help move my work along. My formal photographic education is limited to a years worth of classes many years ago (as my son would say, ‘back in the day’). I can sometimes find a small bit deep in a photograph which truly intrigues me. I love to travel, so my camera is a constant companion. I do not often take photos of people, so you will not find a lot of them here….
Of course, I also use my camera to take photos of my paintings, sometimes it is the process I document or the progress on the surface. I never know when a beginning painting which was covered over will be inspiration for me. Do you do that with your work?
In the following pages, I will share with you the equipment I use (fairly basic, but useful to me), maybe a few parts I would like to consider for purchase as well as what I see in photographs and any particulars I think might be interesting. I also will probably be asking questions when problems arise…I do have those photographic challenges from time to time.
